About Born Brave Chicago
Born Brave Chicago is a movement that aims to empower youth and provide them with the resources to feel accepted, safe and engaged in their communities. We are inspired by the Born This Way Foundation’s goal of creating a safe community where individuality is celebrated by connecting youth with the skills, resources and opportunities they need to build a braver, kinder world. Born Brave Chicago is dedicated to linking youth to resources for mental, behavioral, and reproductive health in Chicago, and providing avenues for youth voices to contribute to neighborhood and citywide dialogues.
#CREATEBRAVECHICAGO is a space for Chicago’s youth to respond to the Born Brave movement’s mission to create a kinder, braver world. Creating brave is about using art, digital media, writing, and other forms of self-expression to describe what bravery means to you, what it looks like in your life, or what it looks like in Chicago. It is about challenging yourself and others to think about how you can use art to make Chicago a safer, kinder place.
Born Brave Nation: Create Community
YOUmedia at Chicago Public Library and Game Changer Chicago will host a series of Born Brave Chicago Meet Ups where youth can connect with each other, work with mentors, engage in workshops, challenges, projects, and events. You will be able to #CreateBrave in safe spaces, where you can build community, build your skills, and have the opportunity to connect with, and support Born This Way Foundation’s message of bravery, kindness, and acceptance.
